What changed
A clean written answer used to be evidence. It isn’t any more.
A well-argued submission used to prove a student understood the work. Any student can produce one in seconds now — and your teachers already suspect it.
The reflex is to hunt for AI. That fight is unwinnable: detectors are unreliable, and they accuse the wrong children.
So we didn’t build a detector. Let them use AI — then ask them to explain what they handed in.

How it works
Four steps. Three of them happen without your teachers.

The student submits homework
Exactly as they do now — a photo of their exercise book on WhatsApp, or a submission inside your LMS. There is nothing new to install and nothing to learn.

Viva asks about their own work
It reads the work, then asks two or three short questions about what the student actually wrote — randomly, with dynamic follow-up, so nobody can prepare for it.

The student answers out loud
A 60-second think window, then they record whenever they are ready. Voice only, because a spoken answer cannot be pasted from anywhere or generated.

The teacher gets the evidence
Homework, recording, transcript and an understanding signal arrive together — on WhatsApp or in the gradebook. No marking, and the decision stays theirs.

Explaining an answer aloud is retrieval practice — one of the best-evidenced ways to make learning stick. Viva makes students better at the exam, not merely harder to fool.
It subtracts work from a teacher’s week
Your staff receive the same homework they already receive, plus a short verdict on work they were going to mark anyway. If it adds a single step to their day, the pilot has failed.
It gives you something to tell parents
“We verify understanding. We don’t police children.” Parental consent is collected before any recording, and data handling is set out in a DPA we sign with your school.
